Canada’s path to the FIFAe Nations Cup continues.

Canada Soccer’s eNational Team finished at the top of FIFAe Nations Online Qualifiers Group A and defeated Trinidad & Tobago in the Semi-Final round as they continue their path to the 2022 FIFAe Nations Cup. Canada’s duo of GoalMachine and AJ finished first in their group with 11 points ahead of strong opponents from USA, Honduras and Panama.

Day 1 saw Canada take on USA in the opening match, and after a hard fought 2nd half, Canada came up just short – finishing 4:3 in favour of the USA. Canada took on Honduras next, and came away with a draw, finishing 1:1. A 4:0 win against Panama would close out the first day of group stage action.

Day 2 opened with a tightly contest rematch with the USA. Canada would score in 90+2′ with the last kick of the game to tie it up and secure an important point. The match ended 1:1. Canada would make a comeback against Honduras, who had a 3:1 lead before Canada scored 3 late goals to secure the 4:3 victory. Canada defeated Panama 3:2 to wrap up the group stage on top of the table.

Advancing to the knockout stage, CANeNT took on Trinidad & Tobago with a spot in the FIFAe Nations Playoffs 2022™ on the line. The first leg was a tight battle resulting in a 2:0 victory for Canada, which was followed by a 4-1 victory in the second leg for a total aggregate score of 6-1. This victory secured Canada’s spot in the playoffs, and they will now continue their journey towards the FIFAe Nations Cup in Denmark.

Canada Soccer’s eNational Team played their matches from Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment’s Bell Gaming Centre in Toronto, Ontario – the new state-of-the art facility of Raptors Uprising GC, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors.

The FIFAe Nations Playoffs will take place on 17-19 June. Canada will compete against USA, Costa Rica, Honduras, Puerto Rico and Mexico with the two finalists from the FIFAe Nations Playoffs booking their ticket to FIFAe Nations Cup 2022™ in Denmark.

FIFAe Nations Cup 2022 will take place 27-30 July in Denmark and will see 24 countries compete in the most prestigious event of the year, where one nation will be awarded the title of FIFAe Nations Cup 2022™ champions.
