Canada Soccer leans into AI in new content partnership with ScorePlay

Canada Soccer and ScorePlay strengthen relationship with new fan-generated contest.

Canada Soccer continues its digital content evolution announcing a new partnership with ScorePlay, a leading media asset management (MAM) platform. The partnership will provide National and Youth Team players with more and better access to high-quality content, and better serve commercial and marketing partners, as well as global media who cover Canada Soccer. It will also allow Canada Soccer to engage with fans and content creators in new and innovative ways throughout 2025.

More and Better Content for National & Youth Team Players

The partnership focuses on enhancing the Canada Soccer experience for National and Youth Team players by providing immediate access to training camp and matchday photography while deepening content engagement.

As part of the new partnership, Canada Soccer players from youth teams to the senior squads, will receive instant access to their action-packed moments through ScorePlay’s innovative Al technology. The platform enables players to quickly retrieve matchday photos – captured by Canada Soccer’s Communications and Content Team –  helping them share behind-the-scenes and match day moments with fans.

Unique Fan Engagement Opportunities

Leading into the upcoming Pinatar Cup where Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team (CANWNT) is competing in late February, and next month, at the Concacaf Nations League Semi-final for Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team (CANMNT), fans will have the opportunity to support their national teams through the ScorePlay platform.

Today, Canada Soccer also launched a video hackathon – a fan contest allowing for the making of videos for the National Teams using media produced by Canada Soccer and shared through ScorePlay. With the support of OneSoccer, fans will be able to download match highlights and Canada Soccer produced content and share their finished product right back into Canada Soccer’s ScorePlay platform with a winner to be voted on across Canada Soccer social channels.

“As we continue to evolve our digital content offering, we’re excited to launch this user generated contest further signifying a shift in how Canada Soccer approaches content creation and fan engagement. This is all about moving away from being a passive, lean-back experience for fans. Instead, we want our supporters to jump in, get creative, and take more of an active role in showcasing their passion while feeling like they are a part of our storytelling.”

Supporting Global Media

ScorePlay is also supporting Canada Soccer’s media relations efforts by enabling faster content delivery for editorial use globally. Through a centralised hub, media and content creators will now have access to Canada Soccer approved and high-quality images, helping to streamline media engagement and amplify its coverage.

“We are very happy to continue working with Canada Soccer. It is an innovative federation and they have already started working on new methods to best utilize the ScorePlay Platform. We are excited to collaborate and help expand their reach globally as we grow our partnership together.”
