Canada Soccer Disciplinary Committe rules on Canadian Championship QR2 mass confrontation

Canada Soccer’s Disciplinary Committee has announced its decisions related to the mass confrontation at the completion of opening leg of the Canadian Championship Qualifying Round 2 Match 5 between Forge FC and Cavalry FC held Tuesday 4 June 2019 at Tim Horton Field, Hamilton, ON.

Forge FC and Cavalry FC have both been found to have failed to ensure their players and/or officials conduct themselves in an orderly fashion following the incident and that and their behavior in participating in the incident amounted to improper conduct.

As such, both teams have been fined in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000 CAD) to be partially suspended ($5,000 CAD) until 31 October 2019. Should either Forge FC or Cavalry FC be sanctioned for another offence during this period, the suspension will be automatically revoked and the full sanction applied.

As a result of personal hearings held for both Cavalry FC’s Jordan Brown and Forge FC’s Tristian Borges, in respect of their involvement in the mass confrontation, Canada Soccer’s Disciplinary Committee announced it found both players guilty of misconduct with Brown and Borges both fined $500 and warned against further misconduct.
