Canada to compete for a spot at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026™
Canada Soccer has unveiled the 21 players selected to represent Canada at the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship, set to take place from 29 May to 8 June at Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium in Alajuela, Costa Rica. The tournament serves as the official qualification route for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026™, with eight Concacaf Member Associations vying for a place on the world stage.
Canada’s Women’s U-20 National Team (CANW20) will first centralize in Montréal on 19 May for a pre-tournament preparation camp ahead of the competition.
“We’re excited to reunite this group and build on the foundation we laid during the pre-qualifiers. Between windows, player development relies heavily on the environments they’re in day to day, so strong collaboration with clubs and programs is essential. With the emergence of the NSL, we’re now seeing more athletes in this age group competing regularly at a high level, which is invaluable to our preparation. This is a talented group, and we’re looking forward to starting our journey toward qualifying for Poland 2026.”
– Cindy Tye, Canada Soccer’s Women’s U-20 National Team Head Coach
Canada secured their place in the Championship after an impressive campaign in the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Qualifiers. Playing in Group E in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, CANW20 posted dominant wins over Dominica, Bermuda, and the host nation to top their group and advance to the final tournament. Of the 24 teams that participated in the Qualifiers, Canada joins five other group winners in Guyana, Puerto Rico, Panama, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica, alongside top-seeded nations USA and Mexico in the eight-team final round.
At the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship, Canada will compete in Group B against Mexico, Panama, and Nicaragua. All matches will be played at Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium. Canada will open group play against Panama on Thursday 29 May (16:00 ET / 13:00 PT), followed by a clash with Nicaragua on Saturday 31 May (16:00 ET / 13:00 PT), and will wrap up the group stage against Mexico on Monday 2 June (19:00 ET / 16:00 PT).
All of Canada’s matches will air live on OneSoccer, available on the fuboTV Canada platform, as a linear channel on Telus’s Optik TV (Channel 980), as well as online at OneSoccer.ca and through the OneSoccer app. Fans will find extended coverage across Canada Soccer’s digital channels on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube featuring the hashtag #CANWNT.
Eighteen players from the squad that competed in the Qualifiers return for the Championship, with three new additions: defenders Victoria Rocci, midfielder Olivia Chisholm, and forward Adriana Bianchin.
