Canada Soccer, along with the players associations representing the Men’s National Team and Women’s National Team, today announced the formal ratification of a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA). The agreement marks another significant milestone in the continued evolution of Canada Soccer.

While the principal terms of the agreement have been in place since June 2024, this ratification formally confirms the comprehensive framework governing the relationship between Canada Soccer and its players from both senior national teams. The agreement is effective from June 1, 2024, through December 31, 2027, and includes provisions related to base compensation, performance-based bonus structures, and commercial terms. The agreement also outlines standards for travel and accommodations, as well as enhanced parental benefits, reflecting a modern and player-centred approach.

“For a while now our National Team players and Canada Soccer have been aligned as partners. The formal ratification of this CBA further reinforces our positive relationship, and we look forward to supporting them during their upcoming major international tournaments as they represent Canada.”

Importantly, the agreement is fully equitable in compensation opportunities and benefits provided to both the Men’s and Women’s National Teams, underscoring Canada Soccer’s continued commitment to alignment across its programs.

“We are grateful to Kevin for his leadership and for the meaningful work that he and Canada Soccer have done to bring this agreement together. During Kevin and Peter Augruso’s tenure, the players and Canada Soccer have built a strong foundation of trust. We are proud of the shared vision and desire that now exists to grow the game in this country. Representing Canada is our greatest honour, and we are excited to continue on our path to the World Cup with the strong support this agreement provides.”

“This agreement reflects the alignment that has been built through collective hard work between the players and Canada Soccer over the past two years. Throughout this process, we have been involved as partners, and are united in what we’re trying to achieve together. We are happy that this important milestone could be reached ahead of the World Cup this summer, and are looking forward to representing Canada and making our country proud.
