#Futsal
Canada Soccer is now accepting proposals from Canadian communities to host the Futsal Canadian Championship in 2026 and 2027. The annual indoor club competition is hosted each April with both the men’s and women’s competitions hosted together in one community.
The Futsal Canadian Championship provides hosts with the unique opportunity to showcase their community, engage with national and local partners, and contribute to the development of futsal across the nation. Canadian communities are invited to submit their proposals with letters of interest by 7 April 2025. The letter of interest should be emailed to competitions@canadasoccer.com.
Final bid documents for hosting either the Futsal Canadian Championship or National Championships, 2026 – 2027, are due by 30 May 2025. Futsal is an exciting and fast-paced sport played indoors on a small court with five players to each side. It features a sport-specific ball that does not bounce the same way as a traditional football bounces on grass or turf and the sport features its own unique Futsal Laws of the Game which differ from traditional football. Each match features two 20-minute halves with the clock stopped each time the match is interrupted as well as rolling substitutions so that players can come in and out of the match.
At the elite club level, Canada Soccer supports domestic competition through the annual Futsal Canadian Championship for men and women. Canada Soccer launched the Men’s Futsal Canadian Championship in 2015 and the Women’s Futsal Canadian Championship in 2023.
The Futsal Canadian Championship also provides an important milestone in the careers of Canada Soccer’s Futsal National Team players. From 2015 to 2024, more than two thirds of our National Team players featured with their clubs at the Futsal Canadian Championship (61 of 90 players).
The 2025 Futsal Canadian Championship runs 10-13 April 2025 in Regina, Saskatchewan. The next two editions of the competition are tentatively scheduled 9-12 April 2026 and 8-11 April 2027.
