Canada Soccer has published its 2025 Report on National Amateur Competitions. The report highlights the Futsal Canadian Championship, Player-Development Program Championship, and National Championships.

As part of the Youth Competitions Network, Canada Soccer welcomed a record 80 youth clubs across its national amateur competitions in 2025, specifically 32 qualified teams for the four divisions of the PDP Championship and 48 qualified teams for the Youth National Championships. These 80 teams qualified from a group of 790 teams participating in league and cup competitions across the 2024-25 / 2025 season.

In 2025, Canada Soccer also coordinated the boys’ and girls’ youth soccer competitions at the Canada Summer Games, which have been hosted every four years since 1969. These competitions featured 24 provincial/territorial youth all-star teams (12 boys’ teams and 12 girls’ teams).

In the adult divisions, the Futsal Canadian Championship welcome 16 teams in April while the National Championships welcomed 16 teams to St. John’s in October.

By the numbers: Canada Soccer’s 2025 national amateur competitions

Across 14 divisions, Canada Soccer’s national amateur competitions welcomed 128 qualified teams in 2025 with 2,288 players and 524 coaches/staff. Those 128 teams qualified from a group of 1,335 teams competing in local league and cup competitions across 12 provinces and territories. More than 200 matches were broadcast including both the Futsal Canadian Championship and PDP Championship that featured on FIFA+ for the first time. Attendance for the men’s Challenge Trophy was 2,992 spectators at King George V Park in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
