Canada’s men’s national team is ranked sixth amongst CONCACAF nations on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings. Just one month after making the biggest jump on the global ranking, Canada remains unchanged at the 66th spot. Its point total, however, did improve from 498 to 504 points.
The FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings looks at each country’s international results from the last four years. The ranking takes into account the result, the importance of the match, the strength of the opponent, the regional strength, the time period, and the number of matches per year.

Canada made its big jump in July after reaching the quarter-final stage of the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Canada finished first in its group with two wins and one draw, but then lost 0:1 to Honduras in the quarter-final stage.
Within CONCACAF, USA remains in first place while CONCACAF Gold Cup champion Mexico remains in second place. USA moved up one spot to 11th on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking. Rounding out the CONCACAF top-six is Costa Rica, Honduras, Trinidad & Tobago and Canada.
