CANM17 make history with first win and first knockout match ever at FIFA U-17 World Cup™
Canada Soccer’s Men’s U-17 National Team (CANM17) has secured its spot in the knockout rounds of the FIFA U-17 Mens’s World Cup Qatar 2025™ following a second-place finish in Group K. Canada will take on the Republic of Ireland in the Round of 32 on Friday, 14 November. The match will be Canada’s first knockout game in program history at the Men’s FIFA U-17 World Cup™.
Canada defeated Uganda in their opening match 2-1, marking Canada’s first-ever win at the tournament. They followed victory with an impressive 0-0 draw against France before concluding the group stage with a 2-1 loss against Chile.

This year’s tournament features Canada’s ninth appearance at the FIFA U-17 World Cup™. At the previous eight editions of the tournament, CANM17 posted a record of 0-4-20.
CANM17 will now face the Republic of Ireland on Friday, 14 November in the Round of 32.
