Canada prepares for Mexico

Canada will face Mexico on Match Day Two of the Torneio Internacional Cidade de São Paulo this Sunday 12 December. Canada, Mexico, Netherlands and host Brazil are all taking part in the four-team women’s international soccer tournament from 9-19 December in São Paulo, Brazil.

The Canada-Mexico match kicks off at 18.00 local (15.00 ET / 12.00 PT) at the Estádio do Pacaembu. Canada-Mexico match is preceded by the Brazil-Netherlands match at 16.00 local.



This will be the third meeting between Canada and Mexico in the last six weeks. Canada won the last match 1:0 over Mexico at the 2010 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier in Cancún, Mexico, giving Canada its first confederation championship in 12 years.



This will be Canada’s 16th match of its 2010 season during which it has posted a record of 12 victories, one draw, and two losses. The Canadian squad has won its last seven matches dating back to the 3:1 victory over China at BMO Field in Toronto on 30 September.



Canada, whose title sponsor is Winners and presenting sponsor is Teck, was drawn into Group A at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011™ along with France, Nigeria and host Germany. Canada faces Germany in the opening match of the tournament on 26 June 2011.
