Canada has arrived safely in Toronto in advance of its upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers™ match against Puerto Rico on Tuesday 11 October. Canada returned Saturday night following a day of travel from Gros Islet, St. Lucia. Canada returns to the pitch on Sunday at BMO Field (10.30 local).

Canada returned with nine points following its 7:0 victory over St. Lucia on Friday night. Despite the small crowd (only 1,005 at Beausejour Stadium), there was a loud contingent of Canadian supporters in the stands that evening. The Canucks hope to have 10 times that support on Tuesday when it plays at home at BMO Field.

In Canada’s return from St. Lucia, one player did not make the trip to Toronto. As a precaution, Will Johnson was returned to Real Salt Lake to meet up with his team doctors; Johnson suffered an ankle sprain on a hard tackle by a St. Lucia player. As such, Canada will have a 17-player lineup for the Tuesday 11 October match.
