Canada arrives in Roma

Canada’s women’s national team has arrived safely in Roma, Italy. The team will undertake an 11-day training camp in Italy before heading to Cyprus for for the fourth edition of the Cyprus Women’s Cup. Canada is a two-time champion in the Cyprus Women’s Cup competition.

Canada’s women’s national team has arrived safely in Roma, Italy. The team will undertake an 11-day training camp in Italy before heading to Cyprus for for the fourth edition of the Cyprus Women’s Cup. Canada is a two-time champion in the Cyprus Women’s Cup competition.



This will be Canada’s second camp of the 2011 season. In January, Canada participated in the Yongchuan Cup Four-Nation Tournament. Canada posted two wins and one loss while captain Christine Sinclair was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament.



On Canada’s first day in Roma, the team was invited to watch a pre-match training session by Napoli at the hotel. Napoli was staying at the same hotel as Canada before a Serie A match against Roma. (Photographed is Serie A’s leading scorer Edinson Cavani with a group of Canadian players).



Canada, whose title sponsor is Winners and presenting sponsor is Teck, is currently preparing for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011.
