Canada arrives in Martinique before friendly

Canada’s men’s national team will face Martinique tomorrow night in their first international friendly of the 2008 season. The Canadian squad arrived in Fort-au-France in anticipation of the first match between the two senior sides since the 2002 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Canadian coach Dale Mitchell has had his squad of 18 men training together in Fort Lauderdale, FL since 20 January. Mitchell primarily called players from North American-based clubs who were out of season. The camp includes a number of Major League Soccer and United Soccer Leagues stars including 2007 adidas Canadian Player of the Year Dwayne De Rosario.
