Canada arrives in China before FIFA Women’s World Cup

Canada was amongst the teams that arrived in China in anticipation of the fifth FIFA Women’s World Cup. China 2007 will be played in five cities from 10-30 September. Canada plays its first game on 12 September.



Canada flew in from Singapore earlier today, landing in Shanghai before traveling by team bus to Hangzhou. Canada spent close to a week training in Singapore after the 30 August international friendly in Japan.

Tomorrow, FIFA president Joseph Blatter will kick off the FIFA Women’s World Cup China 2007 with a special pre-tournament press conference in Shanghai. Mr. Blatter will remain in Shanghai for the 10 September opener at the Shanghai Hongkou Football Stadium



Canada’s first match is 12 September against Norge. Match two is 15 September against Ghana (also in Hangzhou) while match three is 19 Setember against Australia (in Chengdu).



Canada’s first official training at China 2007 is 17.00 local time on 7 September. Local media will also be able to pick up the newest edition of the team media guide (including stats from 30 August), which is also available electronically at CanadaSoccer.com.
