Throughout the month of February for Black History Month 2021, Canada Soccer and the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame presented a series of Stars & Legends (every Wednesday) and Record Breakers (every Thursday) across the Canada Soccer digital platforms. The Stars & Legends series paired an active member of Canada Soccer’s National Teams alongside an honoured member from the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame; the Record Breakers series featured a Canada Soccer Hall of Fame honoured member who still holds a National Teams record.
To kick off the series, a special Canada Soccer digital poster featured seven honoured members from the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame (Alex Bunbury, Candace Chapman, Charmaine Hooper, Lyndon Hooper, Karina LeBlanc, Randy Samuel and Carl Valentine) along with four active National Team players who have won Canadian Player of the Year honours (Kadeisha Buchanan, Alphonso Davies, Atiba Hutchinson and Ashley Lawrence).
