Leg 1 of the semi-final match between FC Edmonton and Vancouver Whitecaps FC rescheduled due to unplayable conditions.
After careful evaluation by the match officials and Canada Soccer, it was deemed unsafe for the Amway Canadian Championship match to proceed tonight in Edmonton. The match is being postponed due to unplayable conditions and because of the uncertain weather for Thursday, the match schedule will be revised.
As a result, the first leg of the FC Edmonton v Vancouver Whitecaps FC semi-final will be played on Wednesday 13 May in Vancouver, as originally scheduled (BC Place, kickoff 19.00 local time). The return leg will be moved to Wednesday 20 May at Clarke Field in Edmonton (kickoff to be confirmed).
The winner of the two-leg semi-final will face the winner of the Montreal-Toronto semi-final in August 2015.
Canada Soccer outlines return to soccer guidelines. The return to soccer guidelines provide member organizations with a five-step process, including a checklist of weighted questions known as the Return to Soccer Assessment Tool.
