Allen wins Dr. Irene Szuler Award

Canadian international player Molly Allen has been presented the Dr. Irene Szuler Award. Ms. Allen accepted the award at the Soccer Nova Scotia Annual General Meeting in Halifax, NS on Sunday 30 May.

Canadian international player Molly Allen has been presented the Dr. Irene Szuler Award. Ms. Allen accepted the award at the Soccer Nova Scotia Annual General Meeting in Halifax, NS on Sunday 30 May.



The Dr. Irene Szuler Award was established to recognize and encourage a female player in Nova Scotia demonstrating outstanding qualities of personal leadership, showing commitment to the game of soccer, and providing encouragement to grass-roots players to strive for excellence. Nkem Ezurike was the inaugural winner in 2009.



Also at the Soccer Nova Scotia Annual General Meeting, Mark Mosher (Halifax Dunbrack) received the Meritorious Service Award for his long-standing dedication to soccer at the club and district levels. Kirk Herman (Bridgewater) received the Hartlen Family Scholarship.



As for election of officers, Scott Lytle, returns as Soccer Nova Scotia Vice President, Greg Fletcher returns as Referee Chair, and Jeff Baker has been elected as Chair of Technical/Long Term Player Development.
