All 17 teams have qualified for the 2026 edition of the Futsal Canadian Championship in both the men’s and women’s divisions. The group of qualified teams was finalised on Sunday 29 March after the last two qualification matches were played in Alberta.

This year’s Futsal Canadian Championship will be hosted from 9-12 April 2026 by Calgary United Soccer Association in partnership with Tourism Calgary. A proven host city that features world-class facilities and friendly volunteers, the Blue Sky City will again be the destination for the best futsal clubs in Canada.

Former national champions Atlético Gatineau (2026) and 9 de Octubre FC Toronto (2004, 2005) have both qualified in the men’s division while Saskatoon Green & White (2004) has qualified in the women’s division. Atlético Gatineau and 9 de Octubre Toronto will face each other on the opening day of the competition in a rematch from last year’s Canadian Final.

Along with last year’s finalists, Edmonton Rangers SC and Winnipeg Pioneers FC have also returned to the men’s division and they will open the competition in a rematch of last year’s match for third place. Zamyad FC North Vancouver, Saskatoon Unity FC, Whitehorse United FC, and Nunavut Piliri have all qualified to the men’s division for the first time.

Windsor Caboto SC, now three-time Ontario champions, are the only women’s team returning from the 2025 Futsal Canadian Championship while Saskatoon Green & White return to the national competition after eliminating last year’s champions Saskatoon SK Impact FC (now Unity FC) in the Saskatchewan provincial final. Seven teams are all new to the women’s division in 2026: Fort St. John SC, Edmonton Drillers SC, Winnipeg Pioneers FC, Nunavut Marauders, Sporting Montréal FC, Fredericton Picaroons Reds, and Halifax Hotspurs SC.

At the elite club level, Canada Soccer supports domestic futsal through the annual Futsal Canadian Championship for men and women. The Men’s Futsal Canadian Championship was launched in 2015, with the Women’s Futsal Canadian Championship introduced in 2023, reflecting the continued growth of the sport nationwide. This past year, Canada qualified for the first edition of the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup™.

This year’s competition will feature a record 10 provinces and territories represented across the men’s and women’s divisions. For the first time ever, the Futsal Canadian Championship will introduce Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals in both divisions. The enhanced format ensures a full four-day competition with meaningful matches for all participating teams. Matches will be broadcast live on FIFA+ including both Canadian Finals on Sunday 12 April.
