Masters
All 14 men’s and women’s teams have qualified for Canada Soccer’s 2024 Regional Masters competitions to be played in Surrey, British Columbia and St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador. The 14 teams from eight different provinces qualified through their provincial competitions.
This year’s competition will feature eight men’s teams and six women’s teams from 19 to 22 September in Surrey (Women’s Masters and Men’s Masters West) and St. John’s (Men’s Masters East). The men’s competition is played across two distinct groups of four teams in two venues (western teams in Surrey and eastern teams in St. John’s) while the women’s competition in divided into two groups of three teams in one venue (all teams head west to Surrey).
The senior men’s competition (O-35) features eight qualified teams from a group of 70 amateur clubs that took part in amateur competitions from across the country. Provincial winners from Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba will play in Surrey while provincial winners from Ontario, Québec, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland & Labrador will play in St. John’s. Last year, Saskatoon YXE FC won the Masters West competition while Montréal’s Soccer Pointe-Claire won the Masters East competition.
The senior women’s competition (O-30) will feature six qualified teams from a group of 14 amateur clubs that took part in five provincial competitions from across the country. Provincial winners from Alberta, Québec, Ontario, British Columbia and Manitoba will all play in Surrey. Last year, Edmonton Angels Scottish SC won the Masters competition.
