Canada Soccer has unveiled the competition schedule for the 2019 Futsal Canadian Championship to be held 11-14 April 2019 and streamed LIVE on CanadaSoccer.com from Queen’s University in Kingston, ON. Ticket packages are available online at https://gaels.universitytickets.com/w/default.aspx
The competition will feature provincial and territorial champions from Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, Yukon, and Nunavut. In addition, 2018 Futsal Canadian Championship winners Ontario will have a second team placed in Group B to round out the competition format.
Group A will feature 2019 Ontario Futsal Cup Champions GTA Futsal (Ontario 1), Quebec’s PLFQ Champions Sporting Montreal FC, Manitoba champions Pioneers FC, and Nunavut champions Rankin FC. Group B features Saskatchewan champions Olimpia SK FC, Alberta champions Calgary Villains Elite, Yukon Selects FC, and 2018 Futsal Canadian Championship winners Toronto Idolo Futsal (Ontario 2).
Matches will kick off Wednesday 11 April at 1:30 p.m. ET with Group A matchup Ontario 1 facing Nunavut and culminate in the Futsal Canadian Championship Final Sunday 14 April at 12:30 p.m. ET.
Launched in 2015, the Futsal Canadian Championship is Canada’s top-level club futsal championship. Ontario are the defending Futsal Canadian Championship winners, Quebec was the 2017 champion, while Ontario were the inaugural 2015 and 2016 champions.
Futsal is a unique, fast-paced indoor sport played across Canada and around the world. Canada Soccer is committed to the growth and promotion of the game. At the elite club level, Canada Soccer supports domestic competition through the annual Futsal Canadian Championship.
Canada Soccer is committed to supporting international playing opportunities in futsal through participation in the Concacaf Club Futsal Championships and through the Futsal National Team with international participation in the Concacaf Futsal Championship and the FIFA Futsal World Cup.
