Ali Gerba has been named professional soccer player of the year by the Fédération de soccer du Québec. Gerba won the award on Saturday night for the third-straight year, picking up the top professional honour at Soccer Québec’s annual awards gala.

Gerba was one of a number of award winners on the night. Josée Bélanger (female) and Francesco Augustin (male) were named senior players of excellence while Samuel Piette (male) and Kylie Davis (female) were named youth players of excellence.
At the elite level, Nicolas Moussavou-Nzamba Lesage (male) and Marie-Ève Jacques (female) won senior player honours, Yacine Ait-Slimane (male) and Léa Chastenay-Joseph (female) won youth honours, Khalfa Bouikni won coach honours, and Braves d’Ahuntsic U14-M (male) and Royal Select Beauport U18-F (female) won team honours. Daniel Belleau (male) and Marie-Josée Charbonneau (female) won the referee honours.
At the regional level, ARS Laurentides was named Association of the Year, Bernard David (ARS Laval) was named Volunteer of the Year, Boisbriand was named Club of the Year, the Fête du soccer en Outaouais was named Event of the Year, Joe Lande was named Regional Coach of the Year, and Saint-Lambert U15-M (male) and Chaudière Ouest U16-F (female) were named Regional Teams of the Year.
