Ottawa, Ontario – After being eliminated from Athens 2004 by the United States on Thursday, the Canadian Men's Olympic (U-23) Team lost 2-1 to Panama on Saturday, February 7th in their final Group A match at the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Panama's José Luis Garces beat Canadian goalkeeper Andrew Olivieri to score the first goal of the match in the 13th minute.

Kelowna, BC native, Rob Friend tied the match in the 20th minute.

Panama's Victor Miranda scored the game winner in the 75th minute, leaving Canada with no wins at the tournament.

The tournament semi-finals will take place on Tuesday, February 10th.

Two days later, on Thursday, February 12th, the tournament concludes at the Estadio Jalisco with the third-place game scheduled for 17:30 CT, while the Final, is set for 20:00 (CT). The finalists will also claim the two CONCACAF berths for the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
