Match Report

Canada won 3:0 over Costa Rica on the second day of the 2017 CONCACAF Boys' Under-15 Championship in Bradenton, FL, USA. After hitting the post once in the first half, Canada struck for three goals in the last 20 minutes of the 14 August match at the IMG Center.

Jayden Nelson hit the post in the sixth minute and then Canada applied plenty of pressure before Malik Henry finally opened the scoring in the 54th minute. Matthew Radivojsa and Sean Rea both scored less than 10 minutes later. Goalkeeper Marc Kouadio posted the clean sheet over 70 minutes.

LINEUP & NOTES:
Canada's starting XI featured Marc Kouadio in goal, Nathan Demian at right back, Maxime Bourgeois and Cameron Da Silva at centre back, Brandon Phelps at left back, and Matthew Radivojsa, Ralph Priso-Mbongue, Jayden Nelson, Malik Henry, Tomas Ribeiro, and Rafael Pinzon from the midfield up through to the attack.

In the second half, coach Paul Stalteri replaced Pinzon with Jérémie Omeonga-Nkoy (49') and Henry with Sean Rea (62').

Costa Rica's starting XI featured George Barrett in goal, Sergio Cespedes at right back, Fabian Alvarez and Jose Tello at centre back, Carlos Navarro at left back, Matthew Bolaños as a defensive midfielder, Bryan Morales, Tommy Muñoz and Geancarlo Castro across the midfield, and Manfred Ugalde and Isaac Montero up front.

In the second half, coach Cristian Salomon replaced Bolaños with Jordy Hérnandez (47'), Morales with Maikel González (47'), Muñoz with Roan Wilson (47'), Ugalde with Dereck Valentine (55'), and Montero with Kane Ujueta (55').
