Match Report

Canada won 3:0 in their home Send-Off Match ahead of the FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019, with goals by Jessie Fleming, Christine Sinclair and Adriana Leon in front of 19,610 fans at BMO Field in Toronto. The win extended Canada's unbeaten streak in 2019 to seven international matches, the fifth longest streak in program history.
 
FIRST HALF:
Rebecca Quinn received the ball at our half then passed the ball through the left side of the pitch to Shelina Zadorsky, who then passed up the left to Desiree Scott, who quickly turned around and passed to Allysha Chapman who then passed inside to Janine Beckie who through passed up inside the left of the box to Christine Sinclair who set up a pass to the right to Jessie Fleming where Fleming shot the ball with her right foot and beat the goalie to get it in the back of the net for Canada's first goal of the match.
 
SECOND HALF:
Rebecca Quinn receives the ball at the half line and passed it up right to Ashley Lawrence, who then crosses the ball just outside the left side of the box to Janine Beckie who quickly taps the ball inside the box to Christine Sinclair who uses her left foot to chip it in right past the goalies reach into the top left corner for goal number 181.
 
Shelina Zadorsky steals the ball off of Mexican defender in the midfield then passes it up left to Ashley Lawrence. Lawrence made a beautiful cross into the box to Adriana Leon who heads in the net for Canada's third goal.
 
LINEUPS & NOTES:
Canada’s starting XI featured Stephanie Labbé in goal, Ashley Lawrence at right back, Rebecca Quinn and Shelina Zadorsky at centre back, Allysha Chapman at centre back, and Desiree Scott, Sophie Schmidt, Jessie Fleming, Nichelle Prince, Janine Beckie and Christine Sinclair from the midfield up through to the attack.
 
Mexico's starting XI featured Cecilia Santiago in goal, Kenti Robles at right back, Rebeca Bernal and Jocelyn Orejel at centre back, Jimena Lopez at left back, and Karla Nieto, Jacqueline Ovalle, Dinora Garza, Daniel Espinosa, Kiana Palacios, and Katty Martinez from the midfield up through to the attack.
 
HONOURS:
Before kick off, Canada Soccer honoured 2018 award winners Christine Sinclair (Canadian Player of the Year) and Jordyn Huitema (Canadian Youth International Player of the Year). Canada Soccer also recognised Diana Matheson for becoming just the second Canadian to surpass 200 international appearances.
