Manager, Professional Game & National Team Events 

Canada Soccer, the official governing body for soccer in Canada, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manager, Professional Game & National Team Events. This role is essential in supporting the growth of the professional game, and ensuring Canada Soccer remains a leader on both the national and international stage. 

Reporting to the Director of Events & Competitions, the Manager will oversee two primary portfolios: the professional game and the staging of national team home events. In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative and regulatory support for leagues, competitions, and clubs sanctioned by Canada Soccer. This includes liaising with key stakeholders such as the Canadian Premier League (CPL), Major League Soccer (MLS), the Northern Super League (NSL) as its beings its inaugural season and other professional and semi-professional leagues. You will be responsible for managing the Canadian Championship, ensuring all competition requirements are met, liaising with participating clubs, and overseeing the planning and execution of international matches for both the Men’s and Women’s National Teams, ensuring that all operational standards are adhered to. 

Your role will also involve managing relationships with external partners such as stadiums, visiting federations, and broadcasters to ensure the smooth operation of events. You will act as the primary point of contact for both CPL and NSL regulatory requests and contribute to their ongoing development. Your ability to manage the day-to-day operational affairs related to professional leagues and clubs, along with overseeing the logistical aspects of national team events, will be critical to the success of Canada Soccer’s initiatives. 

The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in Sport Management or a related field, coupled with at least 5 years of experience in sports administration and/or in event management. A deep understanding of governance, regulatory, and legal aspects within the sports industry is essential. Strong communication and organizational skills, along with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, are key to success in this role. Bilingualism and a thorough knowledge of the Canadian Soccer Structure are considered valuable assets.
