accepted a Rotary International Scholarship to study at the University of Perugia for two years... was co-founder of Keg Restaurants... was instrumental in bringing McDonald’s Restaurants to Canada... he received the Order of British Columbia in 2008... he was 86 years old when he passed away on 21 November 2011 in Kelowna, BC (his funeral was held at Charles Garnier Catholic Church)... per his request, his epitaph reads “the rumous of my death are highly exaggerated”... said Nelson Skalbania, Herb Capozzi was “a multi-talented great Canadian”...
played football and basketball at UBC... played basketball at Perugia... played Canadian football for the Calgary Stampeders... played Canadian football for the Montréal Alouettes...
served as general manager of the British Columbia Lions (1957-67)... was general manager of the British Columbia Lions when the team won the Grey Cup in 1964... was an owner of the Vancouver Canucks in 1971... he helped found the Vancouver Whitecaps in 1974...
