1935 Dominion of Canada Football Championship

Montréal Aldred won the 1935 Dominion of Canada Football Championship, although it took them more matches than any previous winner. With an additional round to their schedule, Montréal had to beat Halifax, Sudbury and Fort William in the playdowns before beating Nanaimo FC in the Dominion final. In doing so, they scored 30 goals in 11 matches.

Montréal was somewhat of a stacked team, with past winners from two former champions (Montréal CNR and Verdun Park) featured in their lineup. Up front, Montréal got steady goalscoring from Paddy Fallon, Larry Fitzpatrick, and Davey McLean. In net, star goalkeeper Jimmy Nelson posted a clean sheet in each round of the Connaught Series.

HÉRO DU CHAMPIONNAT

Charlie Fitzpatrick was the Montréal hero of the 1935 Championship. He scored three goals in the last series, including two goals in the opener against Nanaimo.
