The Accessible Soccer Project is committed to reducing barriers for individuals with disabilities to participate in soccer in various roles, including as players, coaches, match officials, or administrators. This initiative promotes Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) within the sport.
By partnering with Canada Soccer and Soccability Canada, local soccer organizations can gain the knowledge and resources needed to deliver accessible soccer programs in their communities.
Who Is This Project For?
The Accessible Soccer Project is designed for all soccer clubs, whether you’re just starting to develop an accessible soccer program or wanting to expand and existing program.
– For Clubs New to Accessibility: This initiative offers invaluable knowledge and expertise from Soccability Canada. You’ll receive comprehensive support to launch a successful and inclusive program from the ground up.
– For Clubs with Existing Programs: Clubs can benefit greatly from the advanced insights and resources provided by Soccability Canada. Strengthen your existing efforts, ensure sustainability, and enhance the quality and reach of your program.
To be eligible you must be a Canada Soccer Club License holder.
What are the Benefits of Participating?
– Enhance your club’s capacity to engage and support individuals with disabilities.
– Receive specialized training and resources to support accessible soccer programming developed and delivered by Soccability Canada.
– Receive an equipment package tailored for inclusive soccer activities.
– Ongoing guidance and support from the Soccability Canada team.
How do I Apply?
Submit your application between June 12, 2024, and July 12, 2024. Successful applicants will be notified by July 31, 2024. For questions or more information, contact us at community@canadasoccer.com.
