Returning to the World Cup Team is Christine Latham, a striker who did not play in 2002 due to school commitments at the University of Nebraska. Latham was recently selected as a Discovery Player by San Diego of WUSA.
The status on the player front is good, almost everyone is injury free and available, said Pellerud. This is a strong group of athletes who will train and play scrimmages. The 18 players selected are the strongest squad in Canada right now.
Candace Chapman, who is still recovering from a knee injury suffered in her last game with the University of Notre Dame, and Clare Rustad who was not released from school, will not participate in the training camp.
The team will continue their World Cup preparations when they travel to Portugal for the 10th annual Algarve Cup in March.
