Women Honoured As Female Team Of The Year

Ottawa, Ontario – Canada’s Women’s World Cup Team were honoured as Canada’s Female Team of the Year by the Spirit of Sport Foundation (SSF) at the 31st Annual Canadian Sport Awards at a gala event held at the CBC headquarters in Toronto last night for their fourth place finish at the 2003 Women’s World Cup.



The women were the first Canadian senior team to ever win a game at a World Cup soccer competition.
