Ottawa, Ontario The Canadian Soccer Association today announced its Women’s World Cup Team will play two games in Japan. Canada will play Japan’s Women’s World Cup Team at Tokyo’s National Stadium on July 30th, 2004 at 16:30 local time, followed by a game against a Japan National Team Selection at Amino Vital Field Stadium in Tokyo on August 2nd, 2004.
“After the impressive performance at the recent CONCACAF Under-19 Qualification Tournament, many of those players will have a chance to show their impact at the senior level,” said Head Coach Even Pellerud. “This series will provide added experience to the young generation leading into the Women’s Under-19 World Championships in Thailand.”
The team is scheduled to depart for Tokyo on July 26th.
