Canada’s women’s national team has returned from a first successful camp under the direction of new head coach Carolina Morace. The camp ran from 8-18 February in Los Angeles, CA.
“The camp was a tremendous success,” said head coach Carolina Morace. “It was a great opportunity for me to get to know the players.”

The team is currently preparing for next month’s Cyprus Women’s Cup at which point Morace will get her first international games as Canada’s head coach. Canada, whose title sponsor is Winners and presenting sponsor is Teck, won the 2008 edition of the Cyprus Women’s Cup.
The team practiced daily, implementing Morace’s new system. In all, Canada had 27 players in camp, adding Christina Julien for the last few days of the trip. Rhian Wilkinson and Diana Matheson, meanwhile, returned early to their pro clubs in Europe.
Canada will regroup in a week’s time in Rome before heading to Lacarna, Cyprus for the 2009 Cyprus Women’s Cup.
