Chapman makes 75th appearance for Canada

Candace Chapman has made her 75th career international appearance on Tuesday 2 November. Chapman was part of coach Carolina Morace’s starting XI for the Canada-Mexico group match at the 2010 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier. Chapman is the 14th player to reach the milestone.



Chapman has already made 10 appearances this year, all starts as one of Canada’s centre backs. She has been a member of Canada’s national team since 1 March 2002 when she made her debut as an 18-year old in a win against Scotland.



Chapman has represented Canada at one FIFA Women’s World Cup (China 2007), one Women’s Olympic Football Tournament (Beijing 2008), three CONCACAF qualification tournaments (2006, 2008, 2010), and one Pan American Games (bronze in 2007). She has also represented Canada at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup (silver medal at Canada 2002).



Chapman has been playing soccer since age seven when she started at Ajax United. She currently plays professional soccer for FC Gold Pride of Women’s Professional Soccer, winning the league title along with Canadian teammate Christine Sinclair. She previously won a W-League Championship with the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2006.
