Canada’s Carmelina Moscato has made her 50th international appearance. Moscato reached the milestone when she was part of Canada’s starting XI in the 28 May 2011 Women’s International Friendly match against Netherlands in Roma, Italy.
Canada’s Carmelina Moscato has made her 50th international appearance. Moscato reached the milestone when she was part of Canada’s starting XI in the 28 May 2011 Women’s International Friendly match against Netherlands in Roma, Italy.
Moscato, 27, is in her seventh season with Canada’s national team. She made her debut back on 3 April 2002 against Australia in the Tournoi international de France in Poitiers. She made her first start for Canada three days later in a 2:0 victory over France.
Moscato’s experience includes participation in one FIFA Women’s World Cup (not counting Germany 2011) and three CONCACAF women’s championships. She helped Canada win gold at the 2010 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier. She also participated in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2002, winning a silver medal in the process.
At the club level, Moscato won the 2004 W-League playoff championship with Vancouver Whitecaps FC. At the college level, she played for Penn State University.
