Canada posts a 1:1 draw in its first FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match played in Vancouver, BC. Boris Bandov scores for USA before Bob Bolitho equalises for Canada in the 77th minute minute in front of 15,453 fans at Empire Stadium. The match is televised by CBC. Robert Iarusci makes his debut for Canada.

Canada wins 3:0 over Argentina at the FIFA Women’s World Cup USA 2003. Charmaine Hooper scores the opening goal on a penalty kick before player-of-the-match Christine Latham scores back-to-back goals in the 79th and 82nd minutes.

Canada wins 3:1 over Japan at the FIFA Women’s World Cup USA 2003 in Foxboro, MA. After Homare Sawa gives Japan a 1-0 lead, Christine Latham, Christine Sinclair and Kara Lang score for Canada. Silvana Burtini becomes the third player to make her 75th appearance for Canada.

Canada wins 3:1 over China PR in a Women’s International Friendly match at BMO Field in Toronto, ON. Diana Matheson, Melissa Tancredi and Christine Sinclair score for Canada. The victory turns out to be the first in a Canadian-record 11-match unbeaten streak from 30 September 2010 to 21 January 2011 (nine wins and two draws).
