Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association was officially informed by FIFA today that the Draw for the 2003 Women’s World Cup scheduled to be held on May 24 in Wuhan, China has been postponed due to risks posed by the outbreak of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). No new date for the draw was announced.
FIFA also announced today that the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship, originally scheduled for March 26 – April 16 in the United Arab Emirates but postponed due to events in the Middle East, has been rescheduled for November 27 – December 19 in the UAE.
