Mr. Stew Duncan, President of the Manitoba Soccer Association, is very pleased to announce that Mr. Hector Vergara has been appointed to the position of Chief Administrative Officer with the Association.
Mr. Vergara graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1992 with a Bachelor of Recreation Studies degree. Following graduation, Mr. Vergara worked with the Winnipeg Pan American Games Society in a number of sport administration positions; the most recent being International Relations Manager. Following the 1999 Pan American Games, he served as a Marketing Manager with Pollard Banknote Limited.

As a FIFA official since 1993, Mr. Vergara brings a wealth of technical knowledge and experience to the Chief Administrative Officer position. He recently officiated at the Korea/Japan Men’s World Cup tournament in 2002 and was appointed as an assistant referee to the 3rd place match.
As a result of his dedication and professional commitment, Mr. Vergara has achieved many successes as a referee in the sport of soccer. It is expected that he will bring these same qualities to the Chief Administrative Officer position.
Mr. Vergara commences work with the Manitoba Soccer Association on Monday, May 3rd and is eagerly looking forward to the challenges of his new position.
