Four-time national champions Vancouver ICSF Columbus FC will return to Canada Soccer’s National Championships in 2026 after winning their seventh provincial championship on Saturday 2 May. The historic Vancouver club won the 2026 BC Province Cup after a 2:1 victory over old rivals Victoria West FC with a pair of goals scored by captain Matteo Polisi.
This year’s National Championships will take place in the City of Ottawa when Ottawa Gloucester SC hosts the men’s Challenge Trophy and women’s Jubilee Trophy competitions for the first time. World-renown for its culture, entertainment and sporting heroes, the City of Ottawa and the nation’s capital region will welcome Canada’s top amateur teams from 8-12 October 2026.
This will be Columbus FC’s first trip to the National Championships since 2007 when they finished as runners up to Calgary Callies FC. Columbus FC previously won the Challenge Trophy in 1964, 1969, 1977 and 1978. In previous provincial finals, Columbus FC lost to Victoria West FC in 1976 and 1980, but they beat them 1:0 in 1977 and today 2:1 in 2026.
For the 2026 BC Cup Final, Vancouver ICSF Columbus FC’s lineup featured Matteo Polisi (captain), Jordan Thorsen, Vito de Cotis, Jaden Manetta, Paulo Dait, Luigi Polisi, Ali Azarminoo, Tristan Torresan, Nicolas Budisa, John McEown, Omar Rostant, Elie Gindo, Nicolas Morello, Kristian Yli-Hietanan, Gurman Sangha, Adriano Clemente, Massimo Ranallo, Zachary Verhoven, Rafael Vlad, Samuel Agosti, and Brandon Lecce. Not dressed for the provincial final, Alan Camacho, Kundalini Dominique and Ioannis Siafakas were also part of the winning squad.
Canada Soccer’s National Championships are hosted each October across multiple divisions and venues, with other host cities to be announced in the coming months. As Canada Soccer’s largest national event featuring clubs from coast to coast to coast, the National Championships provide a meaningful week-long soccer experience for host cities and participating teams, as well as the players, coaches, support staff, officials, and volunteers.
