Sporting Montréal finished a perfect week in Calgary by capturing the Women’s 2026 Futsal Canadian Championship with a 4:0 win over the 2024 winners Saskatoon Green & White. National Team hero Shayla He scored a hat trick, Allana Oriente scored the fourth goal, and goalkeeper Stephanie Nazarov posted the shutout as the Montréal futsal club captured their first Canadian title in the women’s division.

Sporting Montréal FC is the first futsal club to win the Futsal Canadian Championship in both the women’s and men’s divisions. They previously won the men’s Canadian title in 2017 and 2022.

Shayla He, a Concacaf champion who represented Canada at last year’s FIFA Futsal World Cup, was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

Montréal’s lineup featured Selena Chhiv, Magali Gagné, Shayla He, Lucie Illy, Christy Kellner, Casey Koscher, Elikla Keyah Merlen, Maria Mihoubi, Stephanie Nazarov, Maria Nicoriciu, Allana Oriente, Anna-Bianca Stevens-Cardin, Sara Trandji, and Katerina Vassilounis.

This year’s Futsal Canadian Championship was hosted by the Calgary United Soccer Association in partnership with Tourism Calgary. A proven host city that features world-class facilities and friendly volunteers, the Blue Sky City was again the destination for the best futsal clubs in Canada. With a record 10 provinces and territories represented across the men’s and women’s divisions, the 2026 Futsal Canadian Championship featured an enhanced format that included Quarterfinals and Semifinals for the  first time. Matches were broadcast live on FIFA+ including both Canadian Finals on Sunday 12 April. Both Canadian Finals featured a terrific atmosphere with approximately 475 fans in attendance for the men’s Final.

At the elite club level, Canada Soccer supports domestic futsal through the annual Futsal Canadian Championship for men and women. The Men’s Futsal Canadian Championship was launched in 2015, with the Women’s Futsal Canadian Championship introduced in 2023, reflecting the continued growth of the sport nationwide. This past year, Canada qualified for the first edition of the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup™.
