Canada to Face Switzerland, Qatar, and Winner of European Play-Off Path A in Group B at Historic Home FIFA World Cup 26™

Canada will play the winner of the European Play-Off Path A on 12 June in Toronto, Qatar on 18 June in Vancouver and Switzerland on 24 June in Vancouver in FIFA World Cup 26™ group stage

Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team (CANMNT) has been drawn with Switzerland, Qatar and the Winner of European Play-Off Path A in Group B following the FIFA World Cup 26™ held today in Washington, DC.

Canada is set to appear in its third Men’s FIFA World Cup™ and its first-ever consecutive appearance. CANMNT will open the group stage against either Italy, Northern Ireland, Wales or Bosnia and Herzegovina on 12 June in Toronto at Toronto Stadium. They will then travel to Vancouver to complete the group stage against Qatar on 18 June and Switzerland on 24 June at BC Place. The full tournament schedule will be confirmed by FIFA tomorrow, 6 December.

Canada earned the right to host, along with the United States and Mexico, on 31 August 2018 at the 67th FIFA Congress. The 2026 tournament will be the first ever FIFA World Cup with 48 teams competing and will take place in 16 host cities across North America from 11 June-19 July.
