Canada Soccer names roster for FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025™

21-player roster named to represent Canada’s U-17 Women’s National Team at Morocco 2025™

Canada Soccer announced today the 21 players who will represent the nation at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025™, taking place from 17 October to 8 November in Rabat. This will mark Canada’s eighth participation at the global tournament, which for the first time will be hosted in Africa.

Drawn into Group D, Canada will face Nigeria, France, and tournament newcomer Samoa in the group stage. Under the leadership of Head Coach Jen Herst, the team will open their campaign against Nigeria on Sunday 19 October (15:00 ET), meet Samoa on Wednesday 22 October (12:00 ET), and close out group play against France on Saturday 25 October (12:00 ET). All three matches will be played at the Football Academy Mohammed VI. The top two teams in each group, along with the four best third-place finishers, will advance to the Round of 16 before the tournament progresses to the knockout phase.

Canada’s squad features a bright mix of emerging talent from across the country. Eligible players must be born on or after 1 January 2008, with this year’s roster including 16 players born in 2008 and five born in 2009. Four players are receiving their first-ever youth national team call-up, including two who hold dual Canadian and American citizenship. The group also includes six players currently on Youth Development permits with Northern Super League clubs: goalkeeper Olivia Busby with Halifax Tides FC; defender Naomi Lofthouse with Ottawa Rapid FC; defenders Bridget Mutipula and Chloe Taylor with Vancouver Rise FC; midfielder Olivia Chisholm and forward Melisa Kekic with AFC Toronto.

“Selecting this squad was a challenging task because we have so much talent across the country. This group brings together players with international experience and others stepping onto the world stage for the first time. Representing Canada is a true honour, and we’re focused on competing with courage and unity. I’m confident this squad will rise to the occasion, showcase the quality of Canadian soccer, and make our country proud.”

Jen Herst, U17 Women’s Head Coach and Women’s Youth Excel Program Lead

Canada booked its ticket to Morocco 2025 by topping its group at the Concacaf Women’s U-17 Championship qualifiers in April. The team earned decisive victories over host Nicaragua (5:0) and Panama (2:0), before edging Puerto Rico (3:2) to secure first place and an automatic berth to the FIFA tournament.
