Update from Canada Soccer President, Peter Augruso

Update from Peter Augruso

Hello Canadian Soccer Community,

Following the release of the Interim Report from the Future of Sport in Canada Commission, I am excited to embark on a nationwide series of visits to meet with Presidents and other governance stakeholders from our Provincial and Territorial soccer associations.

At the heart of this initiative is a vision and aspiration for a soccer ecosystem in Canada that is more aligned, united, and vertically integrated – in keeping with the structural concepts that are recommended in the Future of Sport in Canada Commission report. My visits are about fostering collaborative dialogue and exploring how we can move forward together on a modernized structure for soccer in Canada.

I am commencing my visits in Atlantic Canada, starting in Prince Edward Island on September 11, and making my way across Canada over the course of the next several weeks. This is more than just a series of meetings. It’s a chance to listen and learn from each other, to collaborate, and for the soccer community to lead in helping the Canadian sport system to move forward.

Together, we can do the hard work of making positive progress for soccer across Canada. Together, we can shape a stronger and more efficient system that better serves players, coaches, volunteers, and communities across the country. Together, we can create a structure that is built for the amazing growth that our sport is currently experiencing.

Thank you and I hope to see many of you during my travels.

Best regards and Go Canada!
