Caledon United FC won the 2025 Ontario Cup women’s championship

Caledon United FC won the 2025 Ontario Cup women’s championship after they came from behind to win 2:1 over first-time finalist Banat FC Kitchener. Kristy Walton scored the equaliser in the first half before a Kyra Dickinson free kick in the second half was headed by a defender into her own goal for the Caledon United FC winner on Saturday.

Both Caledon United FC and Banat FC Kitchener had already qualified for the 2025 National Championships that will take place in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador later this year. Ontario Soccer were awarded a second berth to the competition on Saturday after Saskatchewan Soccer withdrew from the women’s amateur championship. Both Caledon United FC and Banat FC Kitchener won their Ontario Semifinals on 24 August.

Caledon United FC previously reached the National Championships two years ago after they finished runners up in the 2023 Ontario Cup. This year marked the first time Caledon United FC captured the Ontario Cup women’s championship.

In the 2025 Ontario Cup Final on 6 September, Caledon United FC’s starting lineup featured Gab Emilien in goal, Haley Walsh at right back, Sarah Coutu and Kyra Dickinson at centre back, Emma Mackinnon at left back, Adri Risa and Navi Aujla in the midfield, and Kristy Walton, Kaitlin Phillips, Leanne Tobin, and Arianne Mason on the attack.  Other players that featured as substitutes were Courtney Betts, Madeleine Clark, Irene Halis, Olivia Lazzaro, Ishani Sharma, Jennifer Smith, Hannah Snell, and Eden Young. Sophie Kozmevski dressed but did not feature. The team was coached by Jeff Mehlenbacher.
