Saskatoon LAFC wins 2025 Sask Cup men’s championship

Saskatoon LAFC won their first Saskatchewan men’s provincial championship on Sunday as they beat finalists Saskatoon ASTRA in the 2025 Sask Cup open division. Saskatoon LAFC won 2:1 on 17 August with a pair of goals scored by Kaylum Langmo at Realtors East Athletic Field in Regina.

Both teams won their opening match of the three-team Sask Cup weekend which made the Sunday afternoon match a de facto final. Saskatoon ASTRA won 5:1 over SSC Thunder on Friday night before Saskatoon LAFC won 12:1 over SSC Thunder on Saturday afternoon.

Saskatoon LAFC’s squad for the Sask Cup weekend featured Teijon Abel-Douglas, Delbert Albert, Zaiden Cook, Thomas Diegel, Davis Ernst, Jordan Halyk, Finlay Hart, Jared Kozak, Cole Krushelnyski, Kaylum Langmo, Angus Li, Eric Luo, Ajaun Lyew, Elijah Masiowski, Ryan McMurtry, Fayt Ng-Hills, Emmanuel Pineda, Andrew Schamber, Luke Schamber, Scott Sokwaypnace, and Hao Tran.

Both Abel-Douglas and Sokwaypnace scored hat tricks on Saturday while Lyew (two), Cook, Langmo, Hart and Andrew Schamber also scored against SSC Thunder.
