Charlottetown to host U-15 Cup for the 2025 Toyota National Championships

Charlottetown has been confirmed as the host for Canada Soccer’s 2025 Toyota National Championships U-15 Cup. Scheduled for the week leading into Thanksgiving Day 2025, the six-day competition will feature amateur youth clubs from across the country for both boys and girls.

Canada Soccer’s Toyota National Championships are hosted each October across six divisions in three venues: the adult competition for the men’s Challenge Trophy and women’s Jubilee Trophy; the U-17 Cup competition for boys and girls; the U-15 Cup competition for boys and girls. In 2025, the Toyota National Championships will be hosted in St. John’s, Newfoundland Labrador (Challenge Trophy and Jubilee Trophy), Kamloops, British Columbia (U-17 Cup), and Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (U-15 Cup).

As Canada Soccer’s largest national event featuring clubs from coast to coast, the Toyota National Championships have served as the nation’s primary amateur soccer competition for more than 100 years, with the men’s competition inaugurated in 1913, the youth competition inaugurated in 1966, and the women’s competition inaugurated in 1982. At all age levels, the Toyota National Championships provide a meaningful week-long soccer experience for host cities and participating teams, as well as the players, coaches, support staff, officials, and volunteers.

Charlottetown most recently hosted Canada Soccer’s U-15 Cup in 2022 when PEI FC girls became the province’s first youth team to ever reach a Canadian Final (Winnipeg 1v1 Futbol Dreams won the Girls’ U-15 Cup while CS Longueuil won the Boys’ U-15 Cup). Since 1995, Charlottetown has hosted 11 previous editions of Canada Soccer’s youth club competitions at the different age categories.

At all age levels, Canada Soccer’s national amateur competitions provide a meaningful soccer experience for host cities and participating teams, including the players, coaches, support staff, officials and volunteers. This past season, Canada Soccer welcomed a record 105 qualified teams across its national amateur competitions across the Futsal Canadian Championship (April), Player-Development Program Championship (August), and Toyota National Championships (October). Those 105 qualified teams came from a group of more than 800 amateur teams competing in men’s and women’s divisions in the adult, U-17 and U-15 categories from September 2023 to October 2024.
