Ottawa’s Gloucester Celtic FC will face Suburban FC from Bedford, Nova Scotia in the Challenge Trophy Final this Thanksgiving Monday at the 2024 Toyota National Championships. The two men’s amateur teams reached the Canadian Final after finishing first in their respective groups at Newton Athletic Park in Surrey, British Columbia.

Gloucester are already two-time Canadian amateur champions (2013, 2022) while Suburban FC have reached the Toyota National Championships Final for the first time in program history. Gloucester Celtic FC clinched first place on Saturday while Suburban FC needed a 4:3 victory over Scarborough GS United on Sunday to win their group. The 2024 Final will kick off at 10.30 local on Field #1 at Newton Athletic Park with a live broadcast on CanadaSoccerTV (13.30 ET / 10.30 PT).

This will be the first-ever official meeting between the five-time Ontario Cup winners (2013, 2016, 2021, 2022, 2024) and the fourth-time Nova Scotia provincial winners (2011, 2022, 2023, 2024) at the Toyota National Championships. Before Monday, Gloucester won Group A with 10 points from four matches (3-1-0) while Suburban FC won Group B with nine points (3-0-1) including a victory over Scarborough (who also had nine points with a 3-0-1 record).

Canada Soccer’s Toyota National Championships are hosted each October across six divisions in three venues: the men’s Challenge Trophy and women’s Jubilee Trophy (adult competitions) in Surrey, British Columbia; the U-17 Cup in Cape Breton for boys and girls; the U-15 Cup in Quinte West for boys and girls.
