Canada Soccer’s first-ever Introductory Futsal Training
Canada Soccer is proud to announce the release of its new Introduction to Futsal online training module focused on introducing futsal as both a sport and training tool. Participants will learn about futsal’s origins, basic rules, and the core skills required to play.
“With the success of our recent collaboration with the Portuguese Football Federation and Futsal Canada which includes an advanced futsal coach training opportunity, the timing feels right to introduce a foundational online training module for coaches in Canada,” said Dave Nutt Interim Director of Development. “Futsal is a growing sport and ideal for Canada’s climate and infrastructure. By supporting coaches to introduce futsal in more communities, we hope to foster a passion for futsal and grow the sport from coast to coast to coast.”
The Introduction to Futsal is an asynchronous online training available through the SmarterU platform in both English and French. The training takes approximately one hour and is recognized with a certificate of completion. The Introduction to Futsal module is the first step in developing a coach education pathway for futsal coaches in Canada.
