Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC came from behind to win British Columbia’s 2024 Province Cup as they beat Vancouver United FC Hibernian 6-5 on kicks from the penalty mark. Down 2-0 with less than 10 minutes to go, Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC scored twice to send the match into a shootout (with no extra time).

As BC Province Cup winners, Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC qualified for the 2024 Toyota National Championships that will be played this October in Surrey, British Columbia.

In the BC Cup Final, Coquitlam’s lineup featured Alex Skrzeta (goal), Ryan Ashlee (captain), Kyle Jones, Alex Marrello, Hwang Sang, Adam Jones, Juan Manuel Sanchez, Carlo Basso, David Zaharia, Moreno Zanetto and Lucas Krivak. Coach Mat Bird’s bench had Andre Pietramala, Steve Kindel, Matteo Daddabbo, Christian Comuzzi, Dominic Di Paola, Adam Szymanski, Spencer Mellett, Tomoslav Tomic, Brayden Truong, Kieran Eve and Justin Wallace.

Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC are three-time provincial champions on the men’s side, with previous titles captured in 1994 and 1999. They were national runners up in 1999 when they reached the Canadian Final in Chilliwack, British Columbia, a tough 1-0 loss to Calgary Celtic SFC.
