Award recognizes the top save by a Canadian goalkeeper in international play
Canadian soccer fans across the nation have voted Kailen Sheridan’s outstanding save against the USA at 2023 SheBelieves Cup as the winner of the 2023 Allstate Canadian National Teams Good Hands® Award.
Sheridan’s save came in the 3rd minute of the opening match at the SheBelieves Cup at Exploria Stadium as Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team battled their southern rivals. With Canada tied in the match, USA forward Ashley Sanchez struck a fierce shot from distance towards the Canadian goal. With the ball tracking towards the top right corner, Sheridan leaped to make a spectacular reactionary save, prompting celebration from the Canadian fans in attendance.
The Allstate Good Hands® Award, which recognizes the top save by a Canadian National Team goalkeeper during international play, was chosen by fans during the online voting period which ran from 8 to 15 December 2023. Allstate will present Sheridan with the 2023 Good Hands® Award at a future National Team home match.

With the presentation of the Canadian National Teams Allstate Good Hands® Award, a productive seventh year of partnership between Canada Soccer and Allstate Insurance Company of Canada is completed. The partnership, continuing into 2024, with Allstate Canada and its Agents committed to continuing their support of Canadian soccer at every level, in close to 100 communities nation-wide.
The Allstate Good Hands® Award is part off Canada Soccer’s 2023 awards season, which is celebrating the 31st year of the Canada Soccer Player Awards that were introduced in 1993. The 2023 Canada Soccer Player Awards were announced over the week of 11 December culminating with the two Canadian Players of the Year Stephen Eustáquio and Jessie Fleming.
