For the first time ever, three Nova Scotia teams could win medals in the same year at Canada Soccer’s Toyota National Championships. On the eve of Monday’s Teck Finals Day at Mainland Commons in Halifax, Western Halifax FC have reached the men’s Challenge Trophy Final, Suburban FC have reached the men’s Match for 3rd Place, and United Dartmouth FC have reached the women’s Match for 3rd Place in the Jubilee Trophy competition.
The last time two Nova Scotia teams reached the last four at the Challenge and Jubilee Trophy finals was the 2010 National Championships in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. That year, Halifax Dunbrack SC men finished third while Halifax Dunbrack SC women finished first.
This year’s Jubilee Trophy Final will feature Holy Cross FC against CS Mont Royal-Outremont while the Challenge Trophy Final will feature West Ottawa SC against Western Halifax FC. The Jubilee Trophy Final kicks off at 09.30 local (08.30 ET / 05.30 PT) followed by the Challenge Trophy Final at 12.30 local (11.30 ET / 08.30 PT). Both matches will be broadcast live on Canada Soccer’s Youtube page CanadaSoccerTV.
